The ATAV
An Advanced Technology
All-Terrain Amphibious Vehicle
The ATAV is an all-terrain, water, all-climate, all-season vehicle that moves assets almost anywhere quickly. With technology that has been developed over 20 years with continual redesign and improvement, it combines a range of capabilities and ease of maintenance never before available.
ATAV Inc. is currently organizing to finish engineering refinement in 2010 and begin production in 2010 or 2011 depending on markets and orders. There are alternate schedules for normal and fast track commercial or military applications, the implementation of which will depend on customer needs, desires and funding.
Development and building will be done in the state of Idaho. Facilities have been identified and are available.

Capabilities
- Move six passengers and 2000 pounds of cargo almost anywhere quickly and safely
- Climb four (4) foot walls and 60+ percent (%) slopes and travel on 35+ percent (%) side slopes
- Climb over obstacles (fallen trees, rocks, etc.) and navigate deep ditches up to nine (9) feet deep
- Swim - "spin surf" at 35 mph and operate and float in still water and against current
- Travel through snow, ice, sand, mud, marshes, bogs, rocky terrain, high altitudes, etc.
- Travel at 45-50 mph when driven in accordance with the dictates of terrain and safe operations
- Be adaptable to many configurations and uses and be low maintenance with most done in the field with basic skills
- Not duplicate existing capability and be complimentary to other vehicles
Special Features
- Two capsule hydraulic articulated watertight vehicle
- Front capsule for driver and five passengers
- Back capsule for engine and hydraulic pumps and cargo
- Capsules connected by independent hydraulic system to allow “angle of attack” change for terrain and obstacle maneuvering
- Rubber tracked system with Patented Grousers that grip and propel on any surface while leaving virtually no “footprint”
- Low ground pressure achieved through track system
- Very low Center of Gravity (CofG) for excellent stability
- Hydraulic (hydrostatic) 4X4 drive system powered by US built multi-fuel engine and four hydrostatic drive motors
- Built in roll cage and front and rear cameras with flat screen for safety and maneuverability
- Conventional steering wheel and joy stick controls with primary tail steer and secondary hydraulic drive to tracks
- Basic, field skill maintenance
- Light and easily transportable to operation locations - air transportable
- Multi-mission, reconfigurable and highly versatile - multiple configurations and protection packages with most applied in field autonomous capabilities
- Custom designed trailer to move the ATAV distances at highway speeds. Loading/off loading in less than five minutes
- Built to pull trailers, farm disc/harrow, etc., and options include winch, snow plow blade and protection
